Hi, I’m Jane founder of JaneyHFit, personal trainer, supportive coach, and cheerleader on your journey to feeling stronger, healthier, and more confident.
I created JaneyHFit because I believe fitness should be empowering, accessible and fun. It needs to fit into real life, not take it over, and be tailored to your body, goals and lifestyle.
Where It All Began
I haven’t always been interested in health and fitness. I’ve owned a lot of celebrity workout DVDs (Love Davina!), dabbled with Couch to 5k and joined many gyms to try to lose weight. As for my diet… I think I’ve tried them all over the years – Slimming World, Weightwatchers, Cabbage Soup(!) and various products promising me quick fix weight loss.
I’m someone who has lived the reality of trying to change my body, my habits, and my mindset. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, overwhelmed, frustrated, and disappointed when things don’t seem to work no matter how hard you try.
I was 40 when the penny finally dropped that there is no magic wand and I had to find accountability and consistency to make lasting change. It was January 2016 and I’d just won a sales award at work with a place on an all-inclusive trip to Mexico with the team. The horror of the thought of being on a beach with my work colleagues in 8 months’ time was the catalyst I needed to take action.

I booked on to a residential bootcamp for a week and experienced so many emotions in that time. The focus wasn’t just on activity and food but mindset too – this was the piece that had been missing for me. I was amazed at what I was capable of and how much strength can be built up in a such a short space of time. The power of setting a goal and understanding why it is important to me became the key to my success.
It’s Never a Straight Line
Life happens! Whether we are celebrating, commiserating, stressed, chilled, socialising or staying home, food is a huge part of our culture, lifestyle and relationships.

I find I’m more consistent and accountable when I have an event coming up – particularly a holiday 😊 but I focus on a longer-term view of being functionally fit to be independent and strong for today and for the rest of my life.
Yes, I have wobbles! Emotional eating is a nemesis for me, but over time I have learnt to spot this behaviour and get back on track before too much weight piles on. I work with personal trainers, nutritionists and coaches to support me on my path.
Yes, I love to lift heavy! At just 5ft 2, knowing I’m a little She-Ra makes me feel empowered. This isn’t for everyone and isn’t what I specialise in coaching either but give me a barbell and I’m in a happy place.

Highly Qualified, Evidence-Based Coaching
In January 2020, I started a course with Future Fit to become a personal trainer, and yep – cheers Covid – the gyms closed a couple of months after. Due to social distancing, I had to learn to coach people without being hands on, verbal cues became essential and I’ve kept this as an important part of my approach.
I worked alongside my full-time job in Software to gain my Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer qualifications with practical assessments. A big shout out to my friends who were my ‘clients’ for these – I’m not sure who was more nervous on the day. I’ve progressed to specialist courses for various conditions including Lower Back Pain where the focus is more around reducing fear and ensuring clients feel safe and supported.
I wasn’t sure if Mat Based Pilates was for me as I prefer a slam ball! but this has been an eye opener in terms of strength and mobility – fabulous tutors and great friendships made too. Peppered across the years there have been many workshops – I think the most painful were Kettlebells, Core and Indoor Cycling ! Every day is a school day and I continue to develop my professional skills.
The old adage – you can’t out train a bad diet – is true! My studies have included Level 4 in Nutrition from Royal Society of Public Health. While it’s great to have the skills for meal planning, I prefer to review where a client is at and make recommendations based on their lifestyle and preferences. A framework, rather than a prescriptive approach.
I continue to invest in my education so I can offer the best possible support, whether your goal is fat loss, strength, confidence, mobility, or long-term health.
Why Work With Me?
My focus is on helping you access the right activities to support your goals based on your current fitness levels, likes & dislikes (does anyone really like mountain climbers??) and budget – time and financial.
The lived experience that I have shared here is at the core of how I coach. I’m not judgy, I don’t expect you to be perfect and I meet every client where they are at.
You can expect your training to be:
- Safe and progressive
- Structured around your goals
- Adapted to your ability level
- Focused on long-term success, not short-term fixes
I take a goal-oriented but compassionate approach. We set clear goals, build realistic plans, and adapt them when life inevitably gets busy.
If you’re looking for a highly qualified, understanding, goal-focused personal trainer who genuinely cares about your success, I’d love to support you.
Your journey doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to start.
